Toronto, Ontario — Volvo announced Tuesday that it would join Tesla’s Supercharger network in North America, following the steps of Ford, General Motors and Rivian.
Beginning in 2025, Volvo’s EVs in Canada and the United States will have the North American Charging Standard port (NASC) that will allow cars to plug into Superchargers.
This will give Volvo owners access to more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada.
Hyundai is also reportedly considering the switch to a NASC port. Ford was the first to make the move, followed soon after by General Motors and Rivian.
