Winnipeg, Manitoba — It appears Tesla will be opening a new service centre in Winnipeg following speculation that the OEM had plans for the region. Buzz began approximately two weeks ago after Tesla posted two job alerts for the Winnipeg area.
Two available roles—one “Tesla Advisor” and one Parts Advisor—were posted on LinkedIn in mid-November. The news of a Winnipeg-based Service Centre was confirmed by Drive Tesla Canada on Dec. 7, when it was discovered that Tesla has been booking service appointments at its planned location on Waverly St.
This wasn’t the first time the OEM put up job postings for the Manitoba region. Back in 2020, Tesla appeared to be searching for sales advisors in Winnipeg—the same time the electric OEM posted offerings in Saskatoon, Sask.—though nothing more came of the project. Saskatoon, on the other hand, saw a sales, service and delivery centre open in 2021.
There has not been confirmation as to whether a collision centre is planned for the new Winnipeg Tesla site, though Drive Tesla Canada says it is likely a showroom will be added to operations in 2024.
Tesla also announced its largest Canadian service centre this week, which will be located in Vancouver, B.C.
