Rivian Ready: OEM opens electric pickup shop to reservation holders in B.C.

Victoria, British Columbia — Rivian has expanded its R1 electric pickup shop to Canada, allowing reservation holders to purchase an R1S or R1T from the current inventory.

The electric vehicle maker clarified that the shop is open to its “first cohort of Canadian customers” in British Columbia. Customers must have a preexisting reservation for consideration.

Members of a Rivian Owners Facebook group said several R1T units are available in the shop, with delivery between one week and eight weeks. Prices, however, are as high as $119,550 for an R1T quad motor with a large battery pack, reported Drive Tesla Canada.

The vehicle purchased may not match the reservation exactly, warned Rivian, but eager customers can jump the line should they choose.

The Rivian R1 shop is only available to B.C. customers as the OEM’s only service centre is in Richmond. Two more service centres, in Alberta and Ontario, are planned; opening dates are unknown.
