Retail Rumours: Tesla job postings hint at service centre coming to Winnipeg

Winnipeg, Manitoba — Tesla has created two new job postings for Winnipeg, hinting that the company might finally expand and open its first location in Manitoba.

While it is important to remember that a job posting does not necessarily equate to a finalized deal, it does at least signify that the automaker has once again turned its attention to Manitoba.

Tesla first looked like it was going to expand into Manitoba in 2020 when the company published a job posting looking for a sales advisor in the Winnipeg region.

A similar job posting appeared at the same time for Saskatoon, and while Saskatchewan got  a sales, service and delivery centre in 2021, no progress was made at the time towards Tesla opening in Winnipeg.

This time around, the automaker is looking for both parts advisors and sales advisors, which according to LinkedIn, were openings first published two weeks ago.

The sales advisor position is available for both full-time and part-time positions, with the job description explaining that “your responsibilities encompass guiding customers through their exploration of Tesla’s products and facilitating a seamless sale and delivery process.”

The parts advisor position is available for full-time only and involves “providing critical parts support to the Service Centre.”

Look out for future updates to see if Tesla will finally follow through and expand into the province.
