Swedish electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar is thrilled to be the official
electric vehicle for the 51st annual Festival du nouveau cinema (FNC). The
eleven-day event, taking place in Montreal from October 5 to 16, 2022,
showcases cinema of all types, from offbeat, one-of-a-kind niche works to
crowd-pleasers and daringly innovative large-scale events. This year, the
lineup includes a total of 291 films from 49 countries.
As an associated sponsor of FNC, Polestar’s innovative electric vehicles will
provide talent, industry professionals and festival executives with eco-friendly
transportation to and from the event’s unique venues and infrastructures. As
a resolutely forward-looking festival, FNC is an unfailing advocate of new
creators, new approaches and new technologies.
“The FNC, Quebec’s largest international and generalist festival, is very proud
to partner with Polestar,” says Benjamin Rondeau, Marketing &
communications director for FNC. ”By providing us with a zero-emission fleet
and vehicles at the cutting edge of contemporary design, Polestar is helping
us achieve our sustainability goals and demonstrating its commitment to the
best in artistic creation.”
The festival’s opening night took place at Cinéma Impérial on October 5 at
6:00 p.m. During the red-carpet event, Canadian actress and director of
Falcon Lake, Charlotte Le Bon, arrived in a Polestar 2 to walk the red carpet.
Falcon Lake is a thrilling, eerie, lush coming-of-age story based on Bastien
Vivès’s graphic novel. The film screening will start at 7 p.m., followed by a
publicly attended DJ party in the Quartier Général, a venue that can host up
to 1,500 people.
“We’re proud to be the official electric vehicle of this illustrious festival,” says
Hugues Bissonnette, Country Manager for Polestar in Canada. “It’s in our
DNA to support the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma’s efforts to reduce its carbon
footprint while celebrating worldwide artistry and innovation.”
