SPEAKERS

Scott Kucharyshen, SaskPolytech Auto Body

Scott Kucharyshen is the program head of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Auto Body program. He started out at age 13 at the family mechanics garage doing everything from oil changes to splitting tractors and helping on the farm. In 1993, Kucharyshen attended SIAST Kelsey (now Sask Polytech) and graduated top of the class. He has since worked in all facets of industry from restoration to collision including painting, body, and frame. 

Kucharyshen became head of the Auto Body Program in 2014. where he and his team have become the first OEM, I-CAR and BETAG-certified school shop in North America. He and his team continue to break down education barriers and strive to better serve the auto body industry; hear how electric vehicles will fall into that on Sept. 8.

Kimberly Kos, Manager of Kavia Auto Body Inc.

Kim Kos is the manager of Kavia Auto Body, part of the AutoCanada Collision Centre network. She began with Kavia in 2006 as office manager before climbing to the role of collision centre manager in 2019. Kos has been recognized as a leader in the industry on several occasions; most recently, she was featured on the cover of Business Voice magazine as one of the “autobody bosses” of  Saskatoon. She was also recognized as one of the Women’s Industry Network’s Most Influential Women in 2021.

Kavia Auto Body touts OEM certifications from several automakers, including Tesla, and was one of the first facilities in Canada to achieve VinFast OEM certification.
