Involved in the automotive, truck and transport and collision industries for more than 30 years, David Giles currently serves as the president of PoweredEV Training and Consulting. He first started working with high-voltage vehicles in 2004, training repairers and refinishers on hybrid technology sensitivities in the paint booth. Giles also serves as the EV education product specialist for Consulab, where he works to develop EV curriculum for the automotive industry.
Steve is a highly accomplished Red Seal Technician with an illustrious career spanning over a decade at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), and specialized training in General Motors and Kia factory programs. He has been instrumental in the development and implementation of BCIT’s cutting-edge EV and Hybrid Maintenance and Repair training programs. Steve’s forward-thinking approach has helped prepare the next generation of automotive technicians for the evolving industry landscape, emphasizing sustainability and innovation.
Today he’s the Instructor of Motive Power at the BCIT School of Transportation, but Jim’s journey in the automotive industry began as a student at BCIT, where he successfully earned his Red Seal certification in 1993. Over the course of a career spanning 22 years, he served as a dedicated technician at Mazda. Jim joined BCIT’s Electric Vehicle program in 2019, immersing himself in the rapidly evolving world of electric and hybrid vehicles.
Owner and operator of CSN Elite and CSN Elite Xpress in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and OKTire North Shore Vancouver. Bartok serves as the Vice Chair of the Collision Repair Division on the Automotive Retailers Association (ARA) Board of Directors, and is the British Columbia area representative on the Canadian Council of Collision Repairers (CCCR). He has also previously served on the CSN National Advisory Board.
Scott Waddle started Precision Auto Service in 1997 after working at several local independent repair shops in Metro Vancouver. Scott was the first Auto Service Tech in Canada to have both the BCIT EV repair certification and the EV Friendly endorsement. Under his direction, Precision Auto Service is performing major component repairs weekly on all makes of EVs.
