Adhesive Anxiety: Almost all Cybertruck models in Canada being recalled due to loose cantrail assembly

Toronto, Ontario – Tesla has announced a recall for its Cybertruck that affects almost all Canadian models due to a loose cantrail assembly.

Notably, the recall affects all Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023 and February 27, 2025—a total of 46,096 in the United States and 1,995 in Canada.

The reason for the recall, a loose cantrail assembly, was initially discovered on January 7, 2025. The cantrail—the vehicle’s stainless steel trim panel on each side of the windshield and roof—could loosen and detach from the vehicle as a result of necessary adhesives being “susceptible to environmental embrittlement,” says the automaker.

According to online sources, as of March 14, 2025, Tesla has received 151 warranty claims related to the problem, but is currently unaware of any injuries or accidents caused by the issue.

Owners with affected vehicles will receive an email advising them to contact a Tesla Service Centre to replace the cantrail assembly free of charge.

Additionally, as of March 21, all completed Cybertrucks that have not been sold yet will be fixed before delivery to customers.
