Quebec City, Quebec — Last week, the Quebec government announced that it and the “Roulez Vert” programme do not have sufficient funds to continue offering subsidies to purchase new electric vehicles.
The program will reportedly be suspended in February of 2025.
As a result, until December 31, Quebec consumers will still be able to take advantage of the full $7,000 subsidy currently offered in the province to purchase a new EV. Then, as of January 1, 2026, the Quebec government previously announced that this was set to be reduced to $4,000.
However, despite this new announcement of the total suspension come February, the Quebec government further reports that this will only be a temporary measure so long as the Go Green program resumes in the spring of 2025.
