Blainville, Quebec — On September 18, the EV Repair Tour, supported by Fix Network, took to the stage at the Blainville Training Center in Blainville, Quebec, bringing together all levels of the industry to discuss the necessary steps to prepare for the electric vehicle transition.
Keynote talks took place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a cocktail hour hosted by BASF closing out the evening.
Philippe-Andre Bisson, Director of Marketing and Communications, Fix Network, offered opening remarks about the importance of understanding electric vehicle technology and how to repair it, while also helping to emcee the event.
From here, Nassim Acherar, Master Trainer in Electric Vehicles, and Philippe Bussieres, Training Manager at the Conseil provincial des comités paritaires de l’industrie des services automobiles (CPCPA) electrified attendees with discussions on the EV knowledge needed in order for a safe repair and future profitability—as well as the consequences of what can occur if electric vehicles are not repaired with high-voltage handling in mind.
Following a short break, Nick Poupart, Business development manager at Lithion Technologies and Martin Archambault, Director of Operations Lithion Saint-Bruno, discussed ways to adapt battery collection and recycling in order to meet the needs of modern society and technology.
Closing out the discussion, Sébastien Ménard, Account Manager at Call2Recycle Canada, finished the presentation portion of the afternoon by teaching attendees about the transportation logistics of EV battery collection and how this impacts the recycling of high-voltage materials.
