Toronto, Ontario — Volkswagen Canada, in collaboration with the TYPE1/TAXI team, has introduced a car cover designed to combat air pollution.
The all-electric ID.4 car cover specifically works by absorbing pollutants from the surrounding environment, which are then broken down into inert organic compounds like water and other basic elements.
The covers are activated by sunlight and were made in partnership with Nano-technology company FN Nano.
While the cover is currently designed for the ID.4 all-electric SUV, Volkswagen has noted potential plans to expand the cover line up in the future.
“Owners of the ID.4 love their all-electric SUV. And as EV owners, they’re also passionate about the planet. So we wanted to create an accessory that would help protect both,” says Lynne Piette, head of marketing at Volkswagen Canada.
