Toronto, Ontario — In a surprising turn of events for the East Coast MSO group, Steele Auto Group announced via a Facebook post that it will be discontinuing its All EV Canada business, citing a “lack of demand for EVs in the market.”
The decision comes into effect on Thursday, coming with the promise that the company “will continue to support our EV customers and provide product knowledge, service, and expertise throughout our Steele Auto Group dealer network.”
Steele Auto Group’s statement reads as follows: “Since the acquisition of All EV in July 2021, we have endeavored to consistently deliver exceptional quality and maintain strong relationships with our clients. However, the lack of demand for EV’s in the market has made it increasingly challenging for us to sustain operations and remain profitable.
“All customers have been contacted and we will continue to support our EV customers and provide product knowledge, service, and expertise throughout our Steele Auto Group dealer network.
“We want to sincerely thank the ALL EV team for their hard work and dedication over the past couple of years. The education and awareness gained throughout this journey has been invaluable as the Steele Auto Group continues to embrace an electric future.”
Collision Repair readers may recall the valuable work in EV education being done by the team at All EV Canada, including having recently created an EV motor learning tool out a Tesla Model 3.
Sources close to the Steele Auto Group have told Collision Repair that David Giles, the head technical specialist at All EV, will remain with the company to help support its work in the EV sector, while his staff will be re-absorbed into other areas of the group’s operations.
